b) the salsa, not good..Sam's club has decent salsa, maybe buy some and see what the reaction is?
First started going to this place years ago.. Personally, I feel that this restaurant has been in a steady decline for many years. However, I don't want this to be some scathing review. There are some real positives happening here. The things I like about this place...a) the owner reads the reviews, always a good sign, b) the owners and staff are just really good people trying to run a business that has tight margins. I find it hard to believe some of the reviews about the staff being rude.c) I like what they do with their chips, very flavorful, no one else does that..Also their margaritas, I've just always enjoyed them. d) they're dressing the place up, maybe some new carpet is in the works.
I come to town once every year or two to visit friends.
Very nice.
This year they changed the menu.
Best food and fast service. The drinks are great also.
This is a good place for simple fare and it is very popular. For Halloween the staff have great customs for fun. Cheap and good margaritas! Mexican stuff for the most part. There can be lines to get a table...go early.
The side of rice was hardly sufficient but they brought a bit more when asked.
Margaritas were disappointing. Service was okay. Food was okay. Unfortunately... it was just an "okay" restaurant. If you really want Mexican, it definitely does the trick. But I doubt I'll return or recommend.
c)kitchen staff visible outside taking a smoke break when customers are parking their car. Small thing, I know, just my personal gripe...
My dislikes: the food...I know you have people who just rave about how great it is, and maybe you want to keep some of that to satisfy those individuals, but in my opinion, the menu needs a serious upgrade. Things just taste like it's from a can and just simply reheated. Nothing tastes fresh, it seems like something that you might get from an army chow line meant to feed the masses. I get the impression that there's not any real cooking going on. I no longer eat here, but I'd like to. I know it's an expense, but I wish they'd hire a chef, even just for a short time, who has experience in Mexican cuisine, so that he could train some the the kitchen staff on good cooking techniques. That would be huge for the business. If they did that, I think they'd be busy on off nights Tues-Thurs.
We always eat here.
