I made my purchase and the woman handed me back my card announcing that I now had $14.00 plus change balance on the card. After I asked her why she didn't tell me I had the full value of the card when I first approached her, putting on her glasses she confirmed, "Yes, it says fourteen dollars...: Had I known this from the start I would have made completely different purchases initially, and since there was a line I did not want to take the time to return my first three purchases and start over.
So now I had to walk around the store again to dispatch my new balance. I bought two boxes of Moon Pies (One Vanilla and One Banana) and four more four-packs of Reese Cups, just so I could continue on my way, and I only left nine cents on the card.
It's in the middle of nowhere, but it was a good meeting point for my friend in Columbus. The food is amazing! It will leave you feeling like you need at least 3 naps in a row. Don't hold back at Cracker Barrel. It isn't worth it. Just give in and enjoy.
You want a value on money seriously do you. Get the country boys breakfast. You get a sirloin steak hashbrown casserole grits. Three eggs. Sausage biscuit gravy. Cinnamon hot sliced apples. Last but not least cheesy grits. Foot half your grits on the hash brown casserole then throw the eggs on top of that steak on the side. Hell of a meal. take the other half a grits stirred in your sausage gravy and pour on your biscuits. Second meal get some ice cream out of the freezer add it to your cinnamon apples dessert end of the day. This all will cost you $9.99. thank you Cracker Barrel I buy this often and will continue. :-)
Great decor, large fireplace adds to the esthetic. Pancakes were delicious and they give you enough syrup to last a couple months.
I prudently shopped, determined to use every penny on the card if possible, and finally purchased a box of Cracker Barrel Corn Muffin Mix (was expecting it to taste like corn bread and after following the recipe explicitly, and with much anticipation, found the cooked corn muffins to be devoid of any corn flavor) and a bottle of Blueberry Syrup (tasted very good) and a pack of four Reese Cups for a buck - and if I had waited could have gotten six for the same price at The Dollar Store.) I was expecting to have eleven cents left over.
I found the prices to be a bit high, but not outrageous. The best thing was the chain has the INTEGRITY NOT to DEDUCT a monthly charge while you wait to use the Gift Card, and most places are happy to dwindle the card down to nothing, even though they have the money in their coffers
Great food! We called ahead and didn't have a terribly long wait for our party of 14. They don't take reservations, but giving them a heads up on big parties arriving helps. Kids love playing Checkers by the fire while they waited on their food.
I am going to go up and re-rate the experience a five, just for that alone..
You know how most of these gift card work, they deduct a fee each month if you don't use it right away, so I had no idea what the existing balance was. The very polite woman at the cash register scanned the cad and told me there was a balance of $11.09.

This entire visit took about 25 minutes. The store was crowded and the two women at the registers did their best to keep things moving. They were friendly - as one would expect at an Old-Time Themed Store.
